  • Will you be able to save me money throughout the wedding planning process?
Yes! As your planner, I do have some discount codes that I am able to share with you to help you stay within budget and save a buck or two. I also have personal relationships with vendors that I am more than happy to discuss ways that they can work within your budget. However, my role is not to negotiate with every vendor that we come across. Instead, I am committed to helping you find deals, sales, discounts, and other money saving opportunities to help you stay within a budget that also gives you a wedding that creates lasting memories.
  • I think I want to book Significant Events for my wedding. What's your process?
Step one is booking an initial consultation with our lead planner. We will meet with you in person so you are sure that we are a good fit for your special day. After the consult, we will send you a proposal along with a contract and payment link. If you decide to book Significant Events, we require a 50% deposit and a contract signature. The remaining amount of your payment is due one month before your event.
  • Do you have decor items I can use?
Yes! When you work with Significant Events, you have access to my event decor rentals including vases, candle holders, linens, and more!
  • Will you have an emergency kit for the day of my wedding?
If we are serving as your day of coordinator, we will certainly bring an emergency kit with safety pins, tide pens, eyelash glue, bobby-pins, etc. If there is something you absolutely want me to make sure I'll have, name it and it'll be there!
  • What is the difference between a wedding planner and a month of coordinator?
I'm so glad you asked. While I offer both services, they are certainly different! An event planner manages all of the processes required to get ready for your wedding. For example, finding vendors, creating an event design, managing the budget, etc. Think of a planner as your long term bestie from the day you engaged, all the way to your wedding day. If you purchase our full service planning package, your planner will show up to ensure your event is set up properly, and will then conduct full event management. A month of coordinator will start working with you as early as 6 weeks prior to your wedding day. This involves setting a wedding day timeline, coordinating your vendors, running your rehearsal, and ultimately running your wedding day. So think of your coordinator as the "man (or person) behind the curtain" to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day of your wedding. They will be there from the moment the doors open, to the last crumb being swept up after every guest leaves.
  • Can someone in my family or wedding party be my coordinator?
While we cannot tell you how to plan your wedding, we do not recommend allowing one of your guests or family members being your coordinator. At Significant Events, our number one priority is to make sure your wedding day is everything you dreamed of it being, and our number two priority is to make sure your guests have a good time. So this question goes against our top priorities as a business. :) When it comes to your coordinator, we recommend that you find a professional neutral party to run your special day.
  • Where are you located?
I live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
  • Do you have any certifications?
Yes! I am a Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM.) This is a credential that event planners may receive to show their skills in executing an event from vision to the event itself. To be a CAPM nerd for a second... the definition of a project is any initiative that has a clear outcome and is time bound. So in essence, your event is just that, a project, and I will treat it as such.
  • Do you have any decor that I could borrow for my event if I work with you?
I do not offer decor rentals as part of my planning or coordinating packages. However, I'd be happy to assist you in finding all of your decor as needed.
  • What is your pricing for corporate events?
For corporate events, we charge 12% of the total event budget. The final fee is determined based on the total budget spent after all planning is complete. If the event is meant to generate revenue for the business, we charge a fee 10% of revenue from sales for the event.
  • I am a vendor for events, how do I work with you?
I love meeting new vendors that are excited to scale in the event planning industry! Feel free to send me an email and I'd be happy to chat about us working together.
