Meet Your Planner

Haines Jones

Founder. Planner. Coordinator.

Born as a Type-A social butterfly, it's safe to say that hosting events and bringing people together is in my blood. I have been planning and coordinating events on the side since college, and have since gained 10 years of experience.

As we work together, I will be your number-one advocate to bring your vision to reality. My first priority is making sure you (the client) have all of your needs met, and my second priority is to make sure your guests have a good time.

Having grown up in the Carolinas and planned events right here in Raleigh, I have a strong network and I am committed to bringing the right vendors to you. From the details of a seating chart to the playlist, I'll make sure every detail is considered to create the perfect occasion

When working with Significant Events, you will have an event planning experience that feels like a breath of fresh air. Whether it's a birthday party, or your wedding day, we've got this!

A little more about me...

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina with my husband, German Shepherd, and two kitties. When I'm not working, you're most likely to find me in the yoga studio or spending time with my family and friends.

Why did you pursue a career in event planning?

As an industrial engineer and project manager by trade, I always found myself taking on volunteer opportunities to plan events. Whether it was in college as the Panhellenic VP of Programming, or in my corporate job as the cultural events leader, I kept finding myself coming back to what I love: bringing people together. It also helps that I a certified associate of project management, and an event is just that - a project!

What was the first event you ever planned?

When I was 19 years old, I organized a fundraiser for my sorority called "Hot Dogs for Hearing." And yes, it's just as gross as it sounds. I organized and hosted a hot dog eating competition to raise money for Delta Zeta's philanthropy. All the fraternity boys came out for the occasion and luckily, no one choked! It was hilarious, and such a pleasure to raise money for the Starkey Hearing Foundation.

What is the best advice you have ever gotten?

"If you don't like it, change it." This has always been my mantra and is one of the drivers for starting my own business.

Favorite restaurant in the Triangle?

I have had some of the best meals at Rosewater Kitchen in North Hills. It is fresh, delicious, and seasonal. (Not a paid ad! Get the Rosewater Martini! You won't regret it.)

Fun Fact?

I write only in cursive - comes from years of it being "required" at my elementary school growing up!

Besides events, what are your passions?

I am a HUGE animal lover. Every time we go on vacation, my husband and I find an opportunity to go to a local animal sanctuary or rescue. Some of my favorites in the southeast are the Carolina Tiger Rescue here in NC, and the Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Florida!
